Our network is shared by thousands of customers.

To ensure everyone receives a reliable service, you must not intentionally interfere with the operation or security of our network.

Scanning or probing our infrastructure without authorisation
Interfering with another customer's connection
Bypassing security controls
Attempting unauthorised access to equipment or services

4. Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own devices and network.

We recommend that you:

Keep your modem or router updated
Use strong passwords
Enable encryption on your Wi-Fi network
Regularly install software updates
Use reputable antivirus software where appropriate

If you become aware that your service has been compromised, please contact Veltrix as soon as possible.

5. Spam and Unsolicited Communications

You must not use your Veltrix service to send unsolicited electronic communications.

This includes:

Spam emails
Bulk unsolicited marketing
Phishing emails
SMS spam
Malware distribution
Chain letters

Customers operating legitimate mailing lists must ensure recipients have provided appropriate consent and that unsubscribe requests are honoured.

6. Malicious Software

You must not knowingly distribute or facilitate the distribution of:

Viruses
Worms
Trojan software
Ransomware
Spyware
Botnets
Malicious code

If your equipment becomes infected and begins affecting other customers or our network, we may temporarily suspend your service until the issue has been resolved.

7. Cyber Security

Veltrix does not permit the use of its services for cyber attacks or malicious activity.

This includes:

Denial of Service (DoS) attacks
Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks
Credential stuffing
Brute force attacks
Password cracking
Malware command-and-control infrastructure
Cryptocurrency malware
Network intrusion.

Nothing in this section prevents authorised security professionals from conducting legitimate testing with appropriate permission.

8. Illegal Content

You must not use our services to create, access, distribute or store content that is unlawful under Australian law.

Examples include:

Child exploitation material
Terrorism-related material prohibited by law
Material that infringes copyright where no legal authority exists
Fraudulent content
Material used to facilitate criminal activity

Veltrix reserves the right to cooperate with law enforcement agencies where required by law.

9. Copyright

Customers must respect the intellectual property rights of others.

You must not knowingly use our services to:

Distribute pirated software
Share copyrighted movies, music or television programs without permission
Infringe trademarks or copyrights
Circumvent copyright protection mechanisms where prohibited by law

Veltrix is not responsible for material accessed by customers but may act where legally required.

10. Fair Network Use

Veltrix does not impose data quotas or shaping on our unlimited Internet plans.

We encourage customers to make full use of their service.

However, customers must not deliberately use the service in a manner that:

Damages network performance
Disrupts other customers
Circumvents reasonable network management practices
Compromises network stability

Routine high data usage, including streaming, gaming, cloud backups and remote work, is not considered misuse.

11. Business Services

Business customers may operate servers or business applications where permitted under their selected service.

Customers remain responsible for ensuring those services:

Comply with Australian law
Do not negatively affect our network
Are appropriately secured
Do not create unreasonable security risks

Additional terms may apply to business-grade products.

12. Investigations

If we reasonably believe this Acceptable Use Policy has been breached, Veltrix may investigate the matter.

This may include:

Reviewing network activity
Contacting the customer
Requesting additional information
Working with wholesale providers
Cooperating with law enforcement where legally required

We will always seek to respect customer privacy while fulfilling our legal obligations.

13. Breaches of this Policy

Where a breach occurs, Veltrix will generally seek to resolve the issue cooperatively.

Depending on the seriousness of the breach, we may:

Issue a warning
Request that the activity cease
Temporarily suspend the affected service
Restrict certain services
Cancel the customer's account
Report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities

The action taken will depend on the nature and severity of the breach.
